Research For Your Short Story

Research For Your Short StoryIf you are in need of inspiration for your science fiction or fantasy novel, reading this list of research topics would be of most use to a student writing a short story. Not only is it helpful to the writer but also useful to the reader who may have a basic understanding of these subjects. These topics can also help bring clarity to the writer as well as the reader. With this list of research topics, a writer will get a sense of how to best handle certain situations. This list also provides some examples of situations that may arise when writing a story. All authors should have an idea of what they hope to write and this list can provide a sense of what the research topic will consist of. This knowledge may help the writer to create a compelling story that is truly unique. After years of studying fiction writers, I noticed that many authors are unconsciously using research as part of their fiction writing process. A good example is characters living in the Stone Age or Star Trek actors playing aliens or in many instances, both. You can see where this would work in an essay but it's best if the research is handled consciously. I don't know about you but I prefer my fiction to be captivating, captivating! So, what are the research topics that would be of most use to a student writing a short story? Well, the short answer is many. One example would be a character's genetic makeup. For instance, if your character was mutated from a virus and his or her family line suffers from genetic abnormalities. That is research on its own but there are other examples as well.Have you ever seen a character from childhood memories or events, wanting to go back to his or her childhood even though they now live in an advanced state of technological knowledge? Well, that is also research. A writer needs to keep the research and stories separate so the story can still tell a gripping story. But, the research must not overshadow the story. Are you familiar w ith the stories of people who remember things they were once very young and people who have memory lapses? There is also research that relates to children that have amnesia. This type of research is similar to memory lapses, just that the person has forgotten many things that they can recall. Again, this happens in dreams and in very dark places, but sometimes you will find that these memories are real.Another example of a character's past or present and possible future is research that deals with the origin of human DNA. The major storyline is the discovery of the gene sequence. These studies may have interesting aspects of scientific research, but many of them deal with the formation of life.Reading this list of research topics can provide a great starting point for the student writing a short story. As you read these research topics, try to think about the person who will be reading your work. Hopefully, you will be able to write a great story.
